Methodology

Every number on this site comes from a handful of inputs and simple formulas. They are listed here so you can check them against the official GoMining site and your own judgment.

Model inputs

The live BTC/USD rate (via CoinGecko) only values BTC already accrued. The inputs are set by hand and may lag the platform. Verify current figures on the official GoMining page.

What the model does not capture

  • Network difficulty growth, which reduces BTC rewards over time. The calculator lets you test this.
  • Changes in the BTC price over the holding period, and their effect on a USD-denominated maintenance cost.
  • Changes in platform fees, discounts or bonuses, and any tax on rewards.
  • The resale value of the miner, which can rise or fall independently of rewards.
  • Withdrawal, conversion or network fees.

Modeled, not measured

The accrued figure on the homepage is the model's gross daily output multiplied by elapsed time. It is a projection from the inputs above, not a statement from a wallet, and it will differ from any real account's history.
